The BOP Jazz 3-Day Intensive Program

Hi BOP Jazz Community,

It's Autumn Season and we are gearing up for our October Half-Term Jazz Program with the BOP Jazz 3-Day Intensive Program.

Led by BOP Artistic Directors, Jazz artists Dollie Henry MBE (Choreographer/Creative Theatre Director) and Paul Jenkins (Jazz Musician/Composer/Music Producer), alongside members of the BOP dance family aka the'Boppers'. This BOP Jazz Intensive, offers dancers at all levels of their careers, the opportunity to continue professional development within a genuine Jazz Theatre Company setting.

“Come As You Are” is the BOP Mantra ... and in return BOP offer the space and support to access, explore and engage in developing within the philosophy and pedagogy of the Jazz dance idiom. Providing relevant context and lineage of the jazz art from, that is at the heart of the BOP Jazz Company creative practice and vision.

The BOP Jazz Intensive - is suitable for graduates, professional dancers and practitioners looking to step beyond the commercial exploitations of Jazz dance and explore the artistic and creative essence of Jazz theatre.

Each day will offer complete training and share the essence of a jazz community to support dancers and practitioners at all levels of their personal development and professional careers.

Each day will include:

• A full Technical Jazz Warm-Up
• Learning of BOP Company Repertoire
• Exploration of Creative Jazz Dance creativity
• Improvisation & Choreographic development
• Building on personal skills and performance aptitude
• Dive into the History and Lineage of the jazz art form
• Explore Jazz Music and its alignment with Jazz Dance
• Meet and learn from our Guest Jazz Practitioners
